This started with J. We made J and then manipulated it a lot. We found this weird bug in illustrator where you could interrupt it from painting all of the brush strokes in the middle and you'd get this nice mess of differently weighted lines. We tried a few varients and that produced snowflake1 and 2. The weird part was that neither is really symmetrical -- of course with the interruption of the rendering you would guess that, but I'm talking about the lines themselves, not the weighting. We couldn't figure out how that happened.
