a simple way to use mobile phones for physical, community messaging
People like to stick paper on cork boards. A lot of information can be exchanged and processed that way. Add in digital mobile networks without the fancy screens and you get MessageBoard. Set it up in a community center. Send an SMS to MessageBoard that you are offering guitar lessons, the message is printed by a thermal printer (a common receipt printer) and someone sticks it on a board for you. It has your number so readers can reach you. They can use the phone to call you. The manager can use the same receipt paper to fill the machine as they do for their checkout counter.
